In early 2006, Jody and Bruce Thisted of Misfit Acres in Minnesota were called upon to take in a little pony named “Cookie” whose caretaker had passed away shortly after rescuing her. Cookie was in desperate need of hoof care, but her caretaker’s life ended before she could provide the farrier work needed. Though already caring for several other rescued horses, Bruce and Jody didn’t hesitate to say “yes - bring that little girl to us”.
RESCUE, Inc., we are honored to say, was asked to get involved in Cookie’s plight. Thanks to the loving and dedicated care that Jody and Bruce have provided for her, Cookie’s hooves are much better. We at RESCUE, Inc. are thankful to have been given the opportunity to assist in her recovery.
